When choosing a baby carrier you have two basic options. These two options include the standard baby carriers that often resemble a backpack worn either back or front or the baby sling.

More often than not, a parent may select the traditional style baby carrier because they are not sure of the many benefits a baby sling or wrap can provide. Another drawback is that since many parents aren’t familiar with the baby sling, they may not feel it is secure enough to hold their baby. However, baby slings can be just as secure as a traditional baby carrier, yet hold many more benefits in the long run.

One of the main benefits of a baby sling is the way the baby is positioned close to their parent as opposed to the backpack style of carry that the typical baby carriers offer. The sling carrier is more convenient for infants who need constant attention. Being close to Mom and Dad offers that special bonding time, while allowing the parent to tend to her daily routines, such as housework or taking care of older children as well. (more…)

Becoming a parent for the first time involves a huge amount of learning, as there are hundreds of things involved which childless people would have no reason to come across before, nor had any incentive to learn about.

When you first learn of the impending new arrival, your thoughts will probably be taken up with decorating and equipping a nursery, buying clothes, bottles and much more.  Many people do not think of a baby car seat until later on in the pregnancy. (more…)

When your baby gets to around 5 or 6 months old, you will want to start thinking about purchasing a highchair.

Highchairs currently come with all kinds of features and modern looks, that are really more for the parent or caregiver than the child, although the nicely padded seat covers make the seats comfortable.  Wooden highchairs are always popular but do not ususally fold for storage. (more…)
